This was Sarah’s third year hosting a Longest Table and it was her biggest one yet, with tickets selling out within six days!
She hosted a three-course sit down cocktail dinner on Saturday 28 August at the Cathedral Hotel with 108 guests in attendance.
Along with ticket sales, Sarah raised funds through raffles, door prizes and a silent and live auction.
“I had 115 businesses and companies that supported the event by donating products or vouchers,” Sarah said.
“For the live auction I was lucky enough to be donated a 15,000 ft skydive, Port Adelaide player Travis Boak’s footy boot (selling for $800), a weekend away at a gorgeous AirBnb on the south coast and a signed Adelaide Crows football.
“Every single raffle ticket, silent auction and live auction sold on the night. I even SOLD OUT of raffle tickets, so my gorgeous friends were scrambling to make more!”
Sarah’s motivation to #ForkCancer is driven by her loving family, who’ve all unfortunately fought different types of cancers.
“My family continue to motivate me each year. My mum, dad, brother and a person very close to my heart have all battled this horrible disease,” Sarah said.
“They are the strong ones. They are the fighters. They are my heroes. I will always continue to fight for them as much as I can.”
