One of Australian Breast Cancer Researcher’s (ABCR) regular givers Chris dedicates her time to raise vital funds in honour of her family and friends who have lost their lives to breast cancer.

“Everyone has experienced cancer in some way, whether it’s directly or have known someone who has battled this heartbreaking disease,” Chris said.

“The money I donate each month to ABCR comes from helping the people in my retirement village. The residents are elderly and are unable to keep their gardens tidy. Instead of them paying me I donate the money to breast cancer research.”

In support of those who have gone through breast cancer, Chris not only is a regular giver, but she also fundraises for ABCR.

“I run the community social events at my retirement village and breast cancer is one of causes we raise money for,” Chris said.

“Breast cancer is devastating and this is my way of supporting researchers to find better treatments, especially for secondary breast cancer.”

On Sunday 20 October 2019, Chris held a pizza and cake fundraiser in her retirement village and together with her community, they raised $700!

“The harsh reality is cancer doesn’t discriminate and people are losing their loved ones. This is my way of supporting and giving back.”

Thank you, Chris, your fundraising efforts are inspirational and everyone at ABCR is grateful for your support.
