A regional community has rallied together to raise $7,370 for breast cancer research, in support for those affected by the disease.
The Courier newspaper teamed up with the owners of Luna Belle Boutique, Tiffany Cazzolato and Emily Fels, to put on a fashion show for 120 attendees on Saturday 15 June.
The Fashion in the Hills Charity Fashion Show was held at Cobb’s Hills Estate in the Adelaide Hills. The fashion show featured products from retail stores around the Hills and hosted by Adelady’s Tory Bickley and Kristy Zammit.
The Courier Editor Elisa Rose said the event was about supporting local businesses while also giving back.
“As a family-run Hills business, The Courier team is passionate about supporting local,” Elisa said.
“We decided to use the event to raise money for cancer research as a way of giving back to our community and supporting the great work done by our medical researchers.”
Tiffany and Emily were happy to collaborate with The Courier on this fundraiser, where they saw the opportunity to create a positive community event to raise money for breast cancer research.
“I feel like everyone knows someone who has been touched by cancer,” Tiffany said.
“For me personally, my mother passed away earlier this year from brain and lung cancer and throughout her diagnosis and treatment, I was often so in awe of the different medical advancement and support services that were available to mum and us as a family.
“I felt incredibly honoured to help coordinate an event and raise money to help others in this situation.”
All proceeds from ticket sales, donations and silent auction went to support cancer research through ABCR and THRF Group.
