Why Volunteer With Us?

When you volunteer with us you positively affect thousands of people impacted by breast cancer

  • Giving your valuable time is a great way to give back to the community
  • You can volunteer your skills and develop new ones. Having skilled volunteers saves ABCR valuable dollars, meaning more money goes to supporting our incredible research team and patient care.
  • When you volunteer for Australian Breast Cancer Research you are connected with new people and can build valuable relationships, while having a lot of fun along the way.
  • Our volunteers get a sense of purpose and achievement from giving their time to fighting breast cancer.
  • Volunteering for charity can be a pathway into a future career – some of our volunteers have gone on to become paid employees!

What’s involved in volunteering?

ABCR is part of The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group and collectively, we have a variety of volunteer opportunities for you to get involved with.

You’ll work with motivated people, learn about ABCR and get a unique insight into how a research institute operates, as well as the charity sector.

Volunteering for charity provides substantial benefits to our community and, and importantly it also provides significant benefits to you as a volunteer.

These include:

  • Office Administration: Get up close and personal with our team helping with essential tasks across our Administration, Research, Marketing, Fundraising, Communications and Events teams
  • Events and Activations: Help our team in the lead up and/or on the day at our fun events and public activities, engaging and raising awareness of breast cancer.
  • Supporter Engagement: Chat with our supporters & learn their shared passion for supporting our causes
